This 5-axis machining centre delivers powerful performance in a compact footprint of just 9.4 m². Precision Performance in a Compact Footprint With full simultaneous 5-axis control and exceptional thermal stability, it offers impressive metal removal rates, outstanding surface finishes and the flexibility to cut a wide range of materials.
SPACE, EASE OF USE AND DESKTOP FRIENDLINESS Mitutoyo has also made sure QM-Fit is desktop-friendly. It is compact enough to sit on a workbench, lightweight at around 25 kg, and operates as a standalone system with its own integrated PC and 15.6-inch monitor. The design means there is no need for specialist installation and it can be set up almost anywhere. For many engineers, that flexibility is just as valuable as the accuracy itself. ACCURACY AND CONFIDENCE BUILT IN Accuracy and repeatability remain central to the design. QM-Fit is calibrated to ±10 µm with repeatability within 2σ ≤ 4 µm. Alongside its optical capabilities and long depth of field, it includes procedures for consistent measurement, automatic detection of elements and certified traceability. Pass/fail judgements can be displayed instantly, giving operators a quick decision- making tool without needing to pore over results. “The point of QM-Fit is that you do not have to compromise,” Darren says. “It is straightforward, but it is still precise.”
WHY ENGINEERS SHOULD DROP BY THE STAND AT ADVANCED ENGINEERING This mix of ease, speed and rigour is exactly what Mitutoyo wants engineers to see in action. While specification sheets tell part of the story, Darren believes that the experience of using the system speaks for itself. “Seeing is believing. When someone places a component on the stage and gets an instant, clear measurement without having to fiddle with settings, the impact is immediate. That is why we are inviting engineers to come along to our stand at Advanced Engineering. We will be running demonstrations throughout the show and people can try it for themselves.”
You can visit Mitutoyo UK on Stand J160 at Advanced Engineering, which takes place at the NEC Birmingham between 29-30 th October 2025
